Thank you so much for your interest in the work at House of Hope!
This new post will also contain pictures taken on the children's school days. We are so proud to be able to offer the children a safe home and the best education possible in this area: They attend the public Thai schools and receive extra lessons in Shan language & culture and English. This is a very concrete way to give the children hope for their future as education among Shan children unfortunately is only a priveledge for a few, not a right for everyone. We hope these pictures will fill you with some of the hope & rewarding joy we get from teaching these children!
PS: All the pictures in this post were taken by Ms. Tami See, a good friend & supporter who spent 3 days of her summer vacation at House of Hope in July.
This little boy, Ai Lieng, had a cut on his knee and had to get the approval from Pa Tzing, the housemother before he go go to school that day...

The children are paid THB 5 in pocket money by one of our staff, Pi OO, every school day.

The girls seem to be ready to take off. A school car sends them to school every day. We also cook extra food for the children's lunches as the public schools don't provide enough food for them. That explains the pink boxes the girls are carrying.
