August 12 marks the birthday of HRH queen Sirikit of Thailand. This day is also Mother's Day in Thailand. It it is quite an emotional and touching day where mothers are honored and acknowledged nationwide. Then children pay their respects by offering Jasmine flowers and kneeling down to pay their respects and receive blessings. This year we celebrated Mother's Day at House of Hope as well! It was a great opportunity for the children to display their gratefulness and honor the female staff. The children had also prepared role plays and gifts. Here they are! The ladies at House of Hope! From right to left: Nang Oo (cook, in charge of our handicraft project, caregiver), Pa Tzing (House mother & caregiver), Inger-Lise/Nang Mwe Nguen (director of HoH, English teacher, administrator and caregiver), Nang Bhoo (cook & caregiver)
