Dear friends,
The next 3 posts on this blog show you pictures from the children's school days. Unfortunately education is not a right every Shan child has, therefore we but great emphasis on providing the best teaching available for the children at House of Hope. The oldest children attend the public Adult School (Kaw Saw Naw) in addition to regular English lessons. The youngest children (34) attend the Thai primary schools in the area.
PS: All the pictures in this post were taken by Ms. Tami See, a good friend & supporter of House of Hope. She spent 3 days of her summer vacation together with us in HoH, which we truly appreciate!

In addition to being the Director of House of Hope, Ms. Inger-Lise Bjorkelid (Nang Mwe Nguen) also does all the administrative work, teaches & trains the staff and is the children's full-time English teacher. She says: "Of all the responsibilities I have in the House of Hope teaching & training these Shan children is definately the most rewarding! It is such an honor & priveledge to be able to impart knowledge and help the children 'widen their horizons.' It is my hope & prayer that these children will pass on everything they learned here back to their communities and be able to make a difference with their lives."
